1.What's your favorite subject?你最喜欢的学科是什么?(教材第49页)

(1)What's your favorite...?意为“你最喜欢的……是什么?”,是英语中用来询问对方喜欢的事物的常用句型。

—What's your favorite color?

—White.

(2)favorite(like...best) 此处用作形容词,意为“特别喜爱的”,通常用作定语修饰名词,其前常用形容词性物主代词或名词所有格修饰。

Tom's favorite subject is English.=Tom likes English best.

2.P.E.体育

P.E.作名词,是physical education的缩写形式。

【拓展】学科名词作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。

P.E. is very interesting.

—Because it's fun.因为它很有意思。(教材第50页)

(1)why是疑问副词,意为“为什么”,询问原因。常用来引导特殊疑问句,其答语常用“Because+句子.”。

—Why does he like baseball?

(2)because作连词,意为“因为”,其后跟句子,陈述原因或理由,常用于回答why引导的疑问句。

—Why is he not here?

—Because he is ill.
