1. lend 借出,把某物借给某人
lend sth. to sb.= lend sb. sth. 把某物借给某人
borrow 借入
borrow sth. from sb./sp.从某人或某处借某物
Can you lend your pen to me ?
May I borrow books from you ?
注意:keep“借”,是延续性动词, 通常表示“借某物多长时间”, 多接表示一段时间的短语或
与疑问短语how long连用。例如:
—How long have you kept this novel?
—About two weeks.
2. put up挂; 张贴
(1)是由“动词+副词”构成的短语, 代词作宾语时, 放于动词和副词之间; 名词作宾语时, 放在中间或后面均可。
(2)由put构成的常用短语:
3. thousands of好几千; 成千上万
(1)thousands of表示一个不确定的数目, 前面不跟具体数字, 后面跟复数名词。
(2)如果前面有具体数字修饰时,则thousand不加-s, 不能与of连用。例如: two thousand trees 2 000棵树。
另外:hundred, million, billion等数词与thousand的用法相同。
