this和that的用法
1.this意为“这，这个”，用this是离得说话人的距离近； that意为“那，那个”，用that是离得说话人的距离远。
eg. This is my pen and that is my schoolbag.
2. 在电话中， this表示打电话者，that表示接电话的对方。
eg. Hello! This is Lucy(speaking).你好，我是Lucy.
-What’s this? -It’s a pen.
It is a/an...句型的用法
What’s this?意为“这是什么？”，是一特殊疑问句，this是主语，is是系动词，what是表语，回答特殊疑问句时，不能用Yes/ No， 即问什么答什么，尤其是简略回答。如：What’s this? It’s a pen.这是什么？它是一支钢笔。
在疑问句“What’s this/ that?”中，回答时不能用This/That is...，只能用It’s a/an...
